TDWI San Diego Presents:

Real World Implementations

2 Case Studies:  Data Quality and Data Virtualization

We all enjoy hearing about industry trends and cutting-edge technologies, but may struggle to see how they translate into real world implementations, particularly in our local community. Our next chapter meeting will focus on industry leaders right here in San Diego that are a big part of our TDWI Chapter and have successfully implemented many of these cutting-edge solutions. Don't miss this one!

During the first session, Chris Tyler, Data Warehouse Manager, will present how Illumina implemented a durable and repeatable data quality process.   He will cover the engagement processes with the business and discuss tactics to move this complex effort forward in small doses that can be consumed more easily by the various resources needed to support the initiative.

In the second session, Christian Claborne, an Enterprise Architect at Qualcomm, will describe how Qualcomm uses data virtualization technology as part of their data warehouse architecture to load data from disparate systems and then expose the data for reporting and other uses by the enterprise.  He will discuss the business problems that data virtualization addresses at Qualcomm.  He will also touch on their use of the Data Vault pattern.
